Superheroes

This year has seen the revival of Spider-Man and Superman as well as the final instalment of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy. Both 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and 'The Dark Knight Rises' were superb films and I am hotly anticipating the release of 'Man of Steel'.

Though it's not only the world of cinema that has gone superhero crazy, fashion has too! Here are is what I'm loving...

The Batman trilogy has proven to be hugely successful and it's such a shame that the final instalment will forever be tarnished by the horrendous shooting in Aurora.

Another movie that did really well was The Avengers, in fact it even broke a few records.

The reboot of Spider-Man was just great, I am such a fan of Andrew Garfield and his interpretation of Peter Parker.

And finally, I simply can't wait for the new Superman to hit theatres, though the wait is too long!! The 2 teasers that were released with The Dark Knight Rises aren't your typical trailers, which of course makes me all the more excited. Both essentially the depict the exact same scenes, however, one is narrated by Kevin Costner who plays Jonathan Kent Superman's earth father, the other by Russell Crowe who plays Jor-El Superman's birth father.

Alexander Wang x Azealia Banks

Love this guy. Love this girl. Enough said.

Stella for Team GB

So as the Games get started later today I looked back at the unveiling of the kit designed by Stella McCartney.

Stella wanted to feature the flag which I love, especially as the 2012 Olympic Logo failed to represent anything british.

The kit has been criticised for its lack of red in its colour palette and  we all know how Stella loves blue, her AW12 collection was full of it, even down to the blue mascara.

Whatever your opinion it is undeniable that this is an exciting time for Britain.

Rag & Bone DIY Project

Following on from my last post, a closer look at Rag & Bone, in particular their DIY project. As the website says, the premise is simple: 'no stylist, no hair and makeup, no lighting. Just a girl and her camera. And Rag & Bone'. The girls are Edita, Sasha, Abbey, Lily, Karolina, Carolyn, Miranda, Mina, Candice, and Hanneli. Here are some of my favourite images...

I love the authenticity that comes with guerrilla-style shooting, a perfect fit for the brands first campaign. All models were chosen as they embody the brands aesthetic, which has produced pretty cool results!

Another perfect fit is Kate Moss, who appears in the brands first advertising campaign. Particularly fitting considering the pending London store as well as the british roots of both the designers.

All in all I just can't get enough of Rag & Bone!

American Import

Shopping in London just got a whole lot better. This summer will see the arrival of two much loved American brands, Opening Ceremony and Rag & Bone to London. In fact OC launched yesterday in their temporary pop-up store in Covent Garden. Every year, OC opens up in another country, this year coinciding with the Olympics, the foundation of which OC is built upon. The collaborations couldn't be more exciting: Topshop, Proenza Schouler, Band of Outsiders, House of Holland, Norma Kamali, Christopher Shannon, and Komakino, not to mention Chloe Sevigny bringing back some of her favourites. Very exciting indeed.

Later this year Rag & Bone is set to open in Sloane Square. A New York based brand with a touch of English tailoring accredited to the London born designers, the clothes are effortless. Both stores will fit right in in London, while also bringing something new and fresh with them.

Ahhhh I just CAN'T WAIT!!!

1 Million Flowers

The Dior Couture collection was stunning, but what kind of gets forgotten, especially when only being able to look at the pictures, is the set. Raf Simons likes flowers. His last Jil Sander show featured flowers in glass vases...

For Dior, the walls were head to toe covered. It could not have looked more beautiful...

It took 4 days to orchestrate the extravaganza as depicted by the video below...
