Last weekend I journeyed to a Brooklyn
warehouse to experience the Brooklyn Night Bazaar. Living in the West Village
we always seem to think that Brooklyn is sooo far away, but in reality it's just as
easy as venturing uptown. Whenever I get off the L at Bedford Avenue I
instantly feel excited, and wonder why I don't visit more often. Brooklyn is a pretty
magical place, with the perfect mix of vintage shops, quirky cafes, hip bars,
and the oh so hipster artists that roam the streets. Who knows how long this
version will last, gentrification is already in effect.
The Brooklyn Night Bazaar has drawn its
influence from Asian night markets and features a range of different
independent vendors from food to jewellery to clothing to the wonderfully
weird. The night was well worth it! Not only were there stalls bursting with
goods, but also live music and ping-pong tables.
From 6pm to midnight every Friday and
Saturday until December 22nd, which means there's only one weekend left, so go
forth and check it out!
Another great market to check out is the Union Square Holiday Market...
